Well, you’re in luck because Little Spoon’s latest collaboration with Brooklyn Delhi has just arrived on the scene—better known as our new Sunny Butter Chicken Plate. This partnership unlocks Little Spoon’s latest endeavor in crafting classic Indian flavors to bring the essence of India to your little one’s table.
Who is Brooklyn Delhi?
Brooklyn Delhi dates back to 2009 when co-founder Chitra, began documenting her family’s Indian recipes on a blog while living in Brooklyn. Frustrated by the lack of authentic, preservative-free Indian ready-to-eat products, she started making her own sauces. She met Ben, a food packaging designer who became her husband and co-founder, and together they created Brooklyn Delhi—a brand that:
- Celebrates the spirit of Indian-American culinary culture
- Expands the conversation around Indian food in America
- Creates space for a new culinary perspective that is authentic to both Chitra and Ben
How did Brooklyn Delhi and Little Spoon meet?
The Little Spoon team had eyes for Brooklyn Delhi in the grocery store aisles when they saw their beautiful, fresh packaging design and line up of clean, nutrition ingredients in every one of their products. Once we reached out and met with Chitra, Ben and their kiddos, we knew it was a match made in heaven to develop a product unique to both brands.
In early 2023, we kicked off the ideation process by pulling inspiration from Alok and Ravi, Chitra and Ben’s sons, as well as their fan favorite plant-based Butter Masala Sauce. Little Spoon had a cult following of a previous menu item, Chicken Tikka Masala, so we knew we had to marry all of these loves into one.
Introducing: The Limited Edition Sunny Butter Chicken Plate
We almost forgot to mention that this Plate is packed with 13g of protein and 6g of fiber and just like all of Little Spoon’s Plates, it’s ready to heat-and-eat in 95 seconds in the microwave. If you choose not to use the microwave, that’s totally fine with us! You can always transfer the meal to an oven-safe dish and heat in the oven in less than 10 minutes.
Almost one year later from ideating and taste testing, we co-developed our Little Spoon x Brooklyn Delhi Limited Edition Sunny Butter Chicken Plate. This plate is a delicious and fresh take on a classic Indian comfort dish featuring savory tender white meat chicken coated in an original Brooklyn Delhi tomato-based sauce with creamy coconut + sunflower seed butter. We chose to stay away from cashew butter to be allergen friendly ;). This craveable dish is paired with vibrant veggie turmeric poppers with hidden carrots and peas for the ultimate balance of flavor. While Brooklyn Delhi are the masters of heat and spice, this Plate was made with a mild sauce so your little ones can savor every last bite. If you happen to steal a bite for dinner (or the whole Plate!), you can always add in pepper, chili flakes or a spice of your liking to turn up the heat.
