What 3 words best describe your parenting experience to date?

learning; cooking (A LOT!) + joy

What’s one of the hardest or most surprising things about being a parent that people wouldn’t expect or don’t usually talk about?

One of the most surprising things about being a parent is how comfortable I’ve become with vomit. Dealing with stomach bugs with three boys simultaneously has led to a LOT of throw-up-handling. Didn’t see that coming!

What were some of your “ this normal??” moments once you became a parent?

I breastfed all three boys until about 12 months of age. While I was nursing, I didn’t get my period (I know this isn’t the same for all moms but it was my experience). Anyway… holy sh*t that first period back after weaning – I legit RAGED on everyone I came in contact with for 36 hours leading up to the start. I yelled at my doorman, was pissy toward my dog and even fired my nanny at the time. I felt SO bad once my period started and I knew what was up!

What’s one of your favorite parenting hacks that helps keep you sane (that other parents should know about and start doing ASAP)?

Find a way at least once a week, some little thing, that lets you have a fun, adult moment, either just yourself or friends.
