THIS IS NORMAL
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
A working mom of (2) who started her own business pregnant at 42, and making it work.
What 3 words best describe your parenting experience to date?
Constantly learning, patience
What’s one of the hardest or most surprising things about being a parent that people wouldn’t expect or don’t usually talk about?
Worrying in a way you didn’t think was humanly possible.
What were some of your “wait...is this normal??” moments once you became a parent?
The new normal just does not feel normal once you give birth. I felt things so deeply, like PMS x1,000. My body had significant changes, my feelings were all over the place and my skin, hair (whatever I had left) was falling out, and still is. I lost hair in places I had hair, like I now have (5) leg hairs and shave once a year, and my hair 20 months later is still falling out on my head. I may be bald by the time he turns 2.
What’s one of your favorite parenting hacks that helps keep you sane (that other parents should know about and start doing ASAP)?
We used the laundry basket in the tub to create more room and yet contain the baby when he was little. Dohm for white noise machine and blackout curtains helps the nap, big time.
